20" LCD displays

Anyone have any gripes or comments about using Inventor on a large (20") LCD panel?

We currently use Inventor on 19" LCD
Monitors.  They look great, but the maximum resolution is only 1280 X
1024.  I would make sure the resolution could do at least 1280 x 1024, but
1600 x 1200 would be nicer.

Thanks,

We picked up 20" Dells in January and my only
complaint is that I cannot take it home!

We just bought a 20" Dell ($850) for one of our guys. I'm jealous. The

Philips makes a 1600x1200 as well. Very nice, I wish I had one, one of
my friends does. ~$1200, not cheap.

Why did you go with that brand Jimmy? It's not a "mainstream" name.
No complaints?

Ed,

Can you send me an E-mail address for you, other than your office. Or do I
already have one ?

I have some questions I need to ask you outside the News Groups.

I always heard that LCD (Flat Panels) where not
designed (ideal) for CAD and that you should always use CRT's. Have current
(newer) models changed this. I believe they said it had to do with refresh
rates. I'm looking at getting a 19" flat panel this Christmas (seeing what
prices come down to) as a second monitor next to my 21" CRT. I love the look of
the one's I installed in my mom's store. The local store here has 17" dawoo's
for 299

We use them here at the office, only smaller. They are big in the medical
field with these monitors. I think Dell offers one on their site. I've had
it about 6 months and haven't had any problems at all. Its running at 1600
x 1299 in digital. Kinda pricey though, around 2K.

I have been reluctant to move to LCDs in the past because of the pixelation
of text (lines in text characters tend to look like strings of dots rather
than continuous lines). Did you notice this being a problem on the Dell?

Also, do you know which Dell your company purchased? I looked at their site
and saw the three 20" monitors for less than a $1,000:

DELL UltraSharp 2000FP 20-inch LCD Monitor

SAMSUNG SyncMaster 191T 19-inch LCD Monitor

PLANAR PL201M 20.1-inch LCD Monitor

Although none are currently listed for $850, Dell is constantly running a
variety of promotions and they will frequently honor the promotion price
even after the promotion has passed.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Michael

The Samsung 191T (same as a Dell 1900FP) is OK for Adobe and Office
applications, but the 1280x1024 resolution is not good enough for IV. We
bought one for test in engineering, it ended up on our marketing
coordinators desk. Engineering will stick with our 21" CRT's for now.
