1st new sketch/primitive orientation

I noticed that when i start a new sketch or primitive in 2013, the viewcube/axis rotates to (what i think is) the default system orientation.

Currently i have to reset it to the "home" view after i start a new sketch/primitive to select a plane in the orientation i want to work in.

This isn't a really big thing, but it's a bit annoying to me.

So my question is:

Is there a way to make the viewcube/axis stay the way I've set it in my template/application options?

I had this issue too.

The fix was to open up a new part (or assembly) and orient the view using the cube to what you require.

Then right mouse on the cube and "set current view as home" I used the "Fit to View" option.

Then save the part (assembly) as a template, overwriting you existing one.

Hope this helps you.

You could go to Tools>Applications>Sketch>Look at sketch plane on sketch creation. This will rotate the view to look at the sketch, regardless of the plane selected.

@exSWX: We've set up our templates that way already, been using them for several years now.

@Blair: That option is set, it's not the sketching that's the problem.

The problem is that a first sketch/first primitive rotates to an orientation that differs to what's set in our template.

My mistake on your opening statement: "when i start a new sketch or primitive"
