I am running an i7-2600 3.4GHz processor with windows 7 ultimate and a seagate 15k drive 8GB ram and it takes about
20 seconds to fire up Fusion. UGH.
What are you all seeing for boot times for Fusion?
Thanks!

Inventor Fusion uses a technology where an install is not required. That's the UP side. The DOWN side is that it takes a little longer to boot up.
After a restart of my computer Inventor Fusion will take 30 to 40 seconds to launch. This is expected.
There after Fusion takes about 7 seconds to launch on subsequent runs.

no clue what a "a hybrid hard drive like the Momentus XT" is ... twin 500GB SATA 7200rpm 2.5in Laptop Drives [RAID 0 configured] are what's in the box.
It's a spinning platter hard drive with a small solid state drive built inside. It automatically transfers frequently used files to the SSD for faster load times. I've gotten a pretty good performance boost out of it, especially for starting up my computer and opening Inventor.
ahhh, OK, thanks for that. When I picked the components for this machine, the idea was to upgrade to solid-state hardrives in year 3 although that may get pushed to year 2 if funding comes up.
