    Mirror Tool

I'm having a time trying to figure out the mirror tool.  When I select a part and try to mirror it across a plane (using an origin plan like xy, or a plane I've defined), I get the little 'warning' symbol and the message "paste did not find intersections between tool sheet and target body".  I've attached the file I'm talking about.

    Any thoughts?

This is due to the selection filtering in place when you mirror. Filtering is in place for features, faces, bodies, etc. because you may not always be mirroring the same kind of geometry.

The message you see is because you have selected only one face on the body you are trying to mirror. You need to select the entire body.

Steps for direct selection on screen:

    1. Start the Mirror command

    2. Zoom in to the body you wish to mirror

    3. Hover mouse over an edge, rather than a face

    4. Entire body will become highlighted, select it

    5. Continue mirroring

    Steps using Selection Filter:

    1. Start Mirror command
    2. Go to Select on toolbar
    3. Change filter to Bodies only
    4. Click in screen to go back to Mirror
    5. Select the body you want to mirror.

    Steps using the browser:

    1. Start Mirror command
    2. Expand browser to reveal bodies folder
    3. Select the body you wish to mirror

Thanks!  That is still a little tricky to follow, but I was able to get it to work.  Would love to see a video that worked through some examples.

Is it possible to mirrior parts of a sketch, or not?
