Inventor Fusion Mac – joint assembly – slide along a path?

Hello,

Is there a way to create a sliding joint assembly in Inventor Fusion Mac that would move along a custom path? I'd like a pin to slide along a "S" shaped groove.

Many thanks,

Alex

There is no way to achieve this in Inventor Fusion for Mac.

Are you aware that Inventor Fusion for Mac is discontinued? This tech preview has graduated to Fusion 360. There are more features and capability there.

However there is no Joint that can achieve the S groove. It's not the nature of Joints. There are no constraints in Fusion.

If you want to drag your component manually through the S groove, you could use a joint with a  lot of freedom, such as Planar, and set up Contact Set to keep the pin in the groove. There is no programmatical way to drive the pin through it's range of motion, you would need to drag it.

Thanks,
