With plain Inventor, there's Construction Environment available for checking the trust into a new import of foreign data. Not each and every result is ok, but it helps a lot.
There is not a function to do this in TP4. We are working on some new techniques to validate surfaces and check for quality. Look for this in a future Tech Preview. I think you will like it very much.
