I have all the Inventor 2010, Automation 2010, Inventor 2011, and Intent 2011 installed. I can run IV 2010 with Automation 2010 and IV2011 with Intent 2011, but mixing IV2010 with Intent 2011 doesn't load the addin. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Intent 2011, but it didn't help. I also have every other addin disabled as well.
(Before I installed IV2011, I could mix them no problem.)
