A switch that controls whether to generate a lightweight or a fully detailed model
The lightweight model could have a few components removed/suppressed or swapped out for less detailed components. Some out of the box controls with the ability to further customize using rules.
I'd like to hear from other users about how you would like this to work, and how it should interact with LOD representations and other Inventor capabilities.
That would be very useful for us. As HVAC manufacturer we use lots of big mechanical components like fans, blowers, coils, filters, etc...Some of those are purchased and some are manufactured at the factory. To have the ability to switch from lightweight to fully detailed would be great. We could load the lightweight components at the beginning of the process. When all the changes (modifications) are completed and layout is approved then just prior to manufacturing we switch to detailed! I am currently mimicking this behavior with 2 models. To have everything within the same model would be a big advantage. Great idea! Thanks!
