SimpleExe works...

The sample SimpleExe works, but are there any other more complex examples of driving Inventor from an external C++ EXE?

Hi,

What kind of complex samples you want to have?  Except custom interface, most of the fucntionalities of AddIn are also available with EXE. So you could also refer to the samples in the folder SDK\DeveloperTools\Samples\VC++\AddIns. In addition, you could also find many solution codes in C++ on the forum here or our blogs.

So, I'd suggest you sort out your requirements and check if there is any solutions already.

My error, I had not realised that external EXE and internal "plugin" programming  were so closely related. I used ARX for AutoCAD the last time I did any Autodesk programming, quite a bit different.

Thanks, I need to dig deeper into the documents and examples.
