HOW TO CUSTOMIZE IMPORTED OBJECTS FROM AUTOCAD 2011 TO INVENTOR IN INVENTOR?

Hi,

I would like to customize the dimensions of a part in inventor after importing from autocad 2011.

I could able to see only the option available using fx parameters, when a part is modeled scratch from sketch.

If there is an interface between various products, then this option is help full to model it easily.

Regards,

Chandrasekhar G.

Are you talking about 3D models / 2D Models? When you import a 3d model, you only have limited editing capabilities of the actual model. You can create new sketches and add / remove features or use move face etc. But you can't really modify the model parametrically. It's not a native Inventor file.

For a 2D AutoCAD import you can import it into a Part or a drawing, add constraints, dimensions and modify it from there.

If you are just talking about editing this part without using the API / Macros etc? If not, what kind of editing are you trying to do?

Regards, Matt.
