Dimension text linked to model parameter breaking

I have a part template that gets saved out and its drawing is automatically copied and the model reference updated.  

The drawing has a dimension with text that is linked to a couple model parameters, but after the files are copied the linked text breaks.  I've confirmed that the model reference has updated properly.  Has anyone else had this problem?  How do I fix this?

How did you copy the files and how did you update the reference?

Could you please provide more information on that?

Also, can you reproduce the problem with any model parameters?

Can you reproduce it with a most basic part and drawing document?

Maybe you could attach one of those and provide the exact steps to reproduce the problem?
