Hi all,
I'm trying to install the Developer Tools that came with Inventor 2013 SDK but I'm encountering a problem: the InventorApplicationWizard.dll failed to register as shown below:
I've tryed also the Developer Tools update from ADN but nothing.
I think that it fails while registering the template for VS.
I use VS 2010 Express and the 2012 template were properly installed.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance...

Hi
For .Net addins they is actually no real installation required, you could simply copy the templates to the Visual Studio directory in order to have them available in Express.
On my machine (win7) here is the location of the templates:
C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Templates\ProjectTemplates
Find attached the template files. Simply place them at this location without unzipping.
Regards,
Philippe.
Thank you so much!
For information: any ideas about the causes for the dll registration failure?
Thank you again.
Probably Express has not been tested by the team in charge of the wizard. Since the registry entries are different for VS and Express, if only Express is install the keys looked for by the installer are not found and it fails. If both VS and Express are install, no error is displayed and the template work for both.
Regards,
Philippe.
HELLO,
Sorry that i move up this topic again. I try to install Inventor 2013 DeveloperTools, I get same information as this post.
"Could not find any version of Microsoft Visual Studio".
Actually I have Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2012 on mym computer. Please ehlp.
Thanks,
which programming language are you using to customize Inventor? If .Net, then my answer still stands ...
Philippe.
Then just take a look at the accepted solution ...
