Now, i don't know if this has been brought up before but it starts to annyon the *** out of me so here goes.
Whenever i want to edit a part, extrude, chamfer, fillet dialouge box pops up as usual with dimension info etc. But an additional "box" also shows up on the part or arrow. See the link for a visual explanation.

Is there any way to remove this?
Hi, that is not a problem but a great feature and this is what Autodesk means by Direct Manipulation....try to use it and you will love. 🙂
but if you need something more....please se another topic about this.

Hi Manuela,
I think it's annoying too and if you can't turn it off other than using the classic interface then it's very annoying, not an enhancement.
It's a solution but i still want the new interface. This "function" doesn't really make inventor easier to use. So if you guys have any other options then please let us!
Hello All,
Yes i understand you...maybe Autodesk could add some options to turn ON and OFF the canvas tools. I think there is no way to change unless the change the interface to Classic.
Its better start using it because there are news in 2012 about this: http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Inventor/enu/2012/Videos/direct_manipulation_2012
(may come with the option to turn off) 😄

I can't find a way to turn that part off in 2012 but you can pin it to a set location. That's a plus. I hated how in 2011 it always seemed to be over what I needed to click on.
