I may be using it wrong, but why, when I put
get_Parameters
in the advanced search match exact phrase edit box do I get a ton of results without the exact phrase get_Parameters?
Isn't the beauty of exact searches that they search, er, exactly?

If you go into any group there is the search box near top right.
Search using that, then if you are not satisfied with the results, there is a button "Advanced Search".
But Advanced Search does not have the posibility to say "all of the search terms", only "exact phrase" or "any of the search terms" or "without the words"
"All of the search terms" (i.e. the AND operation) is the best way of reducing and refining the results of a search, as google well knows... It seems strange that the most useful way of searching is not present in "advanced search".
My previous reply was a real concern but not the reply to your question.
Anyway, the normal search splits
get_Parameters
into
get
Parameters
and does an OR on them so a ton of irrelevant results come out.
Great feedback Owen!
I wanted to point out that Boolean searching is also supported in the Autodesk Forums, which would allow one to utilize the AND, "+", OR, NOT and "-" operations.
Argh! Why did I not try it before? 😞
extrusion OR sketch
gives me 900 results
while
extrusion AND sketch
gives me 40, so you are right.
(Maybe some text under the search box saying "you can use AND OR etc. in these searches" would be useful for people with only three active neurons like me...)
The splitting of get_Parameters into get Parameters remains. I expect Autodesk bought a general search engine which removes underscores...
