Hi:
We have a problem with network installs and service packs.
AutoCAD flavors were installed in one location from network deployment a
while back. Computers were then moved to a new location. They can still
access original location via WAN.
As you probably know, when you install sp's, it looks to the original
deployment location to do something (copy files? say hello?). Across the
WAN, this isn't working out.
Can we change where the software looks for the deployments when installing
sp's, or maybe tell the software to ask for a cd instead? I searched the
registry for the unc to the original deployment, and there are many entries.
Is there maybe a certain one I can change?
In the future, can the sp's be designed to not need original install
locations? Personally, I rather download a 50mb sp then deal with this
burden.
Sincerely,
