random - can not find license serve

A few of our win 2000 autocad 2004 stations are failing to find the
license server at random times. Once every 2 weeks or so. This will
happen when user comes to work and boots computer, launches autocad for
the first time. Get the box that says license server can not be found.
The quick fix I found is to restart or log off current user and
everything goes fine. Is there a timeout setting withing autocad that
would do this. We are on a novell network with license server running on
a win 2000 box.

Any ideas,
thanks

The license server uses UDP, which is known to drop packets on congested
networks. We had this problem occasionally until we moved the printers and
plotters onto their own server. It also happens when our file servers start
getting really full ( < 2% free space). The servers start to get swamped &
some packets get lost. I suspect that it could also happen if the
workstation itself is fairly bogged down, although I've never seen that
cause it...
