"DWG Trueview 2013" message dropdown box on startup of my appraisal program

After my installation of Autodesk review 2013, when I open my Win2000 Appraisal program I get a dropdown box asking about the installation of Autodesk review 2013 everytime I try to open my program? First error reads " Please wait while windows configures DWG Trueview 2013" @nd error reads " Run setup.exe to install DWG Trueview 2013" After clicking the dropdown boxes several times to close them, my program opens and works fine? My program supplier told me it may be a bad installation and maybe I should re-install or ask Autodesk for suggestions on why this box opens all the time on startup. My guess is it is something that was placed in windows that thinks the installation was not correct and wants me to do something? Please advise on re-installing, upgrading or how to fix this problem? I am not sure of the best way to re-install to eliminate this problem? Thanks in Advance John Magann

What is your OS?  And are you using roaming profiles?

Windows 7 and I doubt if I am using roaming profiles since I don’t know what they are?

Hello,

This other program appears to be using a similar key, or the same key, as the TrueView key. Have you checked to see if there are icon property settings that may point to Trueview? Right-click the icon  and check teh properties. Also, have you tried uninstalling Trueview? If you uninstall Trueview does it alleviate the problem? If you install Trueview after, does the issue return? Sometimes all it takes to correct the issue is an uninstall and reinstall.

I clicked on the Icon, selected properties and changed the windows OS from Windows XP to my OS, Windows 7!

If I uninstall the Trueview program, that solves the problem.

If I re-install, the same situation occurs?

Can I re-install the program over the existing program without

an uninstall? Maybe a re-install would correct the problem?

Thanks for your help

John,

Hello. Issues like this are all about uninstalling, installing, and reinstalling. My guess is that you will have to try a few things. The products appear to be using similar keys, possibly, or are at least crossing lines somewhere.

You may be able reinstall Trueview through the Add remove programs in the Control Panel. I would give it a try and see if it helps.

Also, it may be worth uninstalling the other program, then installing Trueview first, and the other app second. The ordering of install may help.
