"AutoCAD 2004 License Alert" error message

I upgraded the current FlexLM to version 8.3.1 per the instructions in "AutoCAD 2004 Network License Manager Quick Start Guide"; users can still run AutoCAD 2002.

When I installed AutoCAD 2004 on a workstation and tried to run it, I got the error message, "A valid license could not be obtained by the network license manager...".

The "FlexLM Service 1" is running without problems.

Is the problem that I need to get a new license file for the 2004 version? And if so, would a new license file prevent the 2002 version from running?

AutoCAD 2004 requires a new license file.  In
order to run multiple products the license files must be combined.  See

If you upgraded your AutoCAD 2002 licenses to AutoCAD 2004 you no longer own
AutoCAD 2002 and you should not combine the license files.
