It's impossible to reclaim a stolen standalone license. Once authorized,
there's no further contact with Autodesk unless the license breaks (hence
the name "standalone").
Describe more about how many people need the product full-time, and how many
can share a seat. It might be that a mix of standalone and network license
seats meets your needs best. Choosing this combo is what your reseller is
supposed to help with; perhaps you can find another?
Summary info of license types is here: http://www.autodesk.com/activation.

I am trying to understand all the purchasing/ licensing options that
Autodesk has so craftily created. I have even spoken to my reseller and so
have a basic understanding of how it works. We are a small firm, only
needing 4-5 seats (some of which may need to be shared by a few people) and
so the network license with a few seats that can be borrowed seems great.
Problem is it is about $3000 dollars more than a multiseat standalone
license. I understand that if we give a standalone to someone who splits on
us, he will take the license with him. Hence the beauty of the borrowed
license, right? But how hard would it be to reclaim this license if it is
illegally stolen from us? Autodesk wouldn't just reset their authorized
info for this one seat, and let us, the rightful owners, to remain in
ownership?
Anyone got a great reason not to buy the software off the internet from
thesoftwareguy or something? Their websites claim this is a legal purchase,
is this true?
thanks for any assistance/ suggestions....This feels like I've been given
one of those dead-end assignments from grad school!!!
TIA
