lmtools problem: users shutting down network licenses

Hi,

We have networked licenses (floating) and some users are inadvertently shutting down licenses by using the lmtools.exe which is being installed with the software package (i.e. enter port@host info and shutdown button). Any way to disable/prevent this?

Thanks!

Forgot to mention that there are hundreds of users with lmtools.exe installed so we cannot easily "uninstall" the executables. Edited by: tpili on Feb 12, 2010 9:29 PM

And why do you have hundreds of users with access to LMTOOLS???

From the LMTOOLS on the actual license server, go to Stop/Start/Reread tab and click the Advanced settings>> button. On the left side will appear Start Server Options. Check the first box to Restrict lmdown to work only from node where lmgrd is running. This will keep any clients remotely connected from shutting down the server.
Good Luck!
