It's a common mistake to attempt to use the PLU to move the license from one
hard disk to another. Conceptually, it sounds good, but it doesn't work.
The license is connected to the PC, not just one hard disk. [You can export
to a different PC, reconfigure, get the new Computer ID, and import back.]
The easiest thing at this point is to configure the hardware the way you
want it to be permanently, then simply launch AutoCAD and follow the dialogs
to reauthorize it.

Hi
I experienced several hard disk failures on a laptop and decided to change
the hard disk. The older one was a seagate 40 GB and the new is an Hitachi
80 GB. I made an image of the system partition on the new disk but the
autocad 2005 LT license doesn't work. I also tried to export the license
from the previous hard disk and when I try to import the file, I get the
following message "these license has already been imported. Use the most
recent code or transfert file and renew your operation. Error code 17.1.58".
What else can I do?
Thanks for your answer.
