license manager & firewall client

We have a strange situation here. We have several subnets in the office, and from what I understand, each blocks UDP packets from the others. As a result, a workstation in our office can only get a license from the license manager while the firewall client is enabled on the workstation. We would prefer to not have license manager traffic routed through the firewall if we can avoid it. Is there something we can do to stop the routers from blocking the license manager traffic without letting all udp traffic through? (such as opening a specific port to domain users). Thanks in advice for any suggestions you may have. -- Jon Rizzo Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.

What products and versions are you using? Products prior to AutoCAD 2002 used UDP 1422. Our FLEXlm implementation which is used from AutoCAD 2002 on, uses TCP packets 2080 and 27000-27009 -- Jerry Milana, Autodesk Consulting "Jon Rizzo" wrote in message news:4087f20b_3@newsprd01... > > We have a strange situation here. Does the AutoCAD version determine which ports are used? We have AutoCAD 2002 and 2004 running (soon to be only 2005). LMTOOLS says that the version is 8.3c, but I don't know if this refers to the actual license manager, or just lmtools itself. Does this mean it should be using ports 2080 and 27000-27009? -- Jon Rizzo Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc. In my experience the ports are taken from 27000 and up in the order that you start the services unless you have specified the port in the license file using TCP:27000 on the SERVER line. -- Best Regards, Jimmy Bergmark CAD and Database Developer Manager at www.pharmadule-emtunga.com Take a look at JTB FlexReport (FLEXlm report tool) - www.jtbworld.com/jtbflexreport SmartPurger (Purges automatically) - www.jtbworld.com/?/smartpurger.htm or download some freeware at www.jtbworld.com More on AutoCAD 2005; www.jtbworld.com/autocad2005.htm "Jon Rizzo" wrote in message news:40881372_3@newsprd01... > Does the AutoCAD version determine which ports are used?
