is novell dead in 2007

heard from a coworker that novell would be dead in 2007 or a year from now?

Novell won't be dead in a year. I do think the end of Netware is near, but
edirectory, groupwise, and other products will hang around. You'll just run
them on a different network operating system (Linux)!!!

My understanding is Netware will be legacy supported until about 2015. Current netware/novell products are still available and support still exists for the Netware products. It appears that most of their development efforts are geared towards the SUSE they are pushing. Most everything already is ported to SUSE and is interopable with various desktops.
