installation problem

i'm trying to install autocad architecture on windows 8, but there's always a "communication problem".

There are some suggested solutions, but me and my friends tried them all out...

The weird thing is i have downloaded and installed Autcad..(the normal version) without any problem...

Hi Eleni and welcome to the Autodesk Community!

May I ask you to provide a bit more information on this issue?

Which version of AutoCAD Architecture are you trying to install?

What other troubleshooting steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Have you tried a different download method?

And if you could provide the exact verbiage of the error message you are receiving it would be very helpful.

To get the best download performance, we recommend following the below steps:

  • Use Internet Explorer 8 or 9, Firefox, Chrome or Safari to access Subscription Center.
  • In the preferences or options area of your preferred browser, remove pop-up blockers and allow access to all *autodesk.com sites.
  • In the preferences or options area of your preferred browser, delete cookies, temporary internet files, and history.
  • Turn off your personal firewall or VPN, if you use one.
  • Close and reopen your preferred browser.

Note: Internet Explorer 10 is not currently compatible with Subscription Center and as a result may not function properly. If you're using Internet Explorer 10, we recommend adding Autodesk.com to your Compatibility View Settings as described below:

  • Hold down Alt-T, select Compatibility View Settings
  • Add "autodesk.com".

If you still experience any issues, we recommend using one of the above Internet Browsers.

Thank you very much and I apologize for your inconvenience.

error message:

"Communication Failure"

Download and instillation has been interrupted by lost connection between the Autodesk webiste and this computer. The most likely causes are:

-The instillaiton package was removed from the install location, which is not supported

-The Autodesk download website was closed manually or refreshed beforethe instaler launced

-A fire wall has blocked the network ports

Please address these issues if possible, return to the website, and then click Install Now, or use another download methoid: Download Now or Browser Download

i've tried install now and download now

autocad architecture 2014

thank you 🙂

Thanks for the extra information!

I found a few links to help you troubleshoot the "Communication Failure" error as this is well known, but tricky, error:

You may notice that there is a trend regarding download methods happening from these different channels but still be sure to read all of the solutions and to troubleshoot carefully at home. If you decide to uninstall and reinstall again be sure to follow the guidelines from my previous post.

Please let me know how it goes.

Thank you!
