failed to install Maya 2013/2014

I have installed Autodesk maya 2013 on my personal computer with the student license. I recently purchased another laptop and I am trying to instal Maya onto that too. I instaled Maya2014 on my laptop a couple of months ago and also used it a couple of times. I reopened the software yesterday on my laptop and Maya failed to open and kept crashing.

I uninstaled all Autodesk packages from the laptop and then decided to instal Maya fresh again.

However, each time I instal, the instalation fails. This happens for both 2013 and 2014.

Would appreicate any help in fixing this. I am also attaching the logfile info for the failed instalation of Maya as well a snapshot of the error.

I also got another error during the instalation process and I am not sure what it means. The instalation continued to progress even after encountering this error. Attached a snapshot of that too.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you're having problems installing Maya 2013/2014.

This error can indicates that the PIT Config file used to register the product with the PIT file at install time cannot be found or cannot be opened.

Is the PIT Config file in a folder that you have access to when the product is installed?

 
Or it is possible that the machine has an existing bad pit file that did not get removed while uninstalling. 

Remove the corresponding data under “C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Adlm" and re-attempt the installation.

Thanks for the response.

I do have access to the PIT file under the Adlm folder. 

I made a copy of the files in that folder and then deleted it.

I am trying a fresh instalation again. i will let you know if this works

Perfect...

deleting the .pit file did the trick.

I was able to instal maya once again.

So, I installed a fresh package of Maya2013 on my laptop. When I open Maya after installation, I get the autodesk Lincesing window and it remains in this window forever.

this happens for Maya Backburner, Composite etc.

I checked the CPU usage during this time and it doesnt seem to be hogging the CPU. So, i am not sure whats going wrong at this stage.

I removed Maya2014 earlier from my laptop because it was doing the same thing. Looks like the same problem exists for 2013 as well.

Any thoughts?

Hey guys i'm trying to install MAYA 2013 and i had it before, on my new laptop it is giving me installation issues. I tried most of the things on the forum except overriding the install with code because i dont know how to do that. Well, in the log  I believe the issue is with my DirectX and it says failure, everytime i attempt. Any help, please? Email me at telfortsam@yahoo.com or reply. I need my MAYA
