ds1410d

All:

After installing the FlexLM license manager tools and files from the AutoCAD
2002 CD; the following error message is logged in the system event log.

The DS1410D service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

Two entries are made in the registry for a DS1410d.SYS file, which is not
anywhere on the server, or as near as I can tell on the AutoCAD 2002 CD.
What is this file for, and does it prevent the FlexLM licensing server from
working properly? I have to remove the registry entries to prevent the
error from being logged in the system event log.

Another quick question. What happened to the Elan licensing tools? Did
they go out of business? I never had problems getting those to work, while
the FlexLM has been a headache for my IT expert, and myself.

Thanks for the assistance.

You have a software from IC Editor on your server. (
http://www.iceditors.com )
Check the services in Config panel.

DS1410D seems to be a protection for some software. Have you a dongle on the
parallel port?
Some software like Avid DS from Softimage use it.

Franck:

We are not using any kind of hardware lock, or dongle on the parallel port.
The registry entry for this mystery file was created by the Autodesk AutoCAD
2002 network installation setup for the FlexLM tools, and files.

Thanks for your help with our problem.
