change motherboard?

My computer is in need of a memory upgrade. However, our IT guy wants to swap my motherboard with that of another PC, because of limitations on my board.

I\m very hesitant to do this, beceause I don't think that I'll be able to run my Autodesk products (Inventor and AutoCad Mechanical) without reinstalling and reregistering them. Am I right, or can this be done without a problem?

You probably won't have to reinstall it, but you will have to reactivate it for certain.
