change licenseserver reference on multiple client pc's. (Autocad 2012)

Hi all,

My company just upgraded to a new licenseserver, and now we want to update our NLM (network) Autocad 2012 clients as well. Autodesk recommends changing either the environment variable or the licpath.licfile in the Program Files directory, but neither one of these options works for us.

It seems that when the local flexnet service is running on the client, the licenseserver reference is not being changed. We've created an executable that stops the flexnetservice, changes the variable + licpath.lic and starts the flexnet service again, but it's still not working flawless.

Does anyone have any idea on how to change the licenseserver reference on multiple clients?

please help.

regards,

Huib

Running the NLM on each client (as for individual Vault) usually results in a connection issue due to IPv6 more than anything else.  The NLM tries to connect to itself but cannot.  The resolution typically is to modify your hosts file to include 127.0.0.1 as your localhost loopback.

For more information about Network License Manager connectivity issues and IPv6, please see my discussion post here:
