cannot install Softimage

For Softimage, Install "wizard" (not!) hangs up computer and I have to do a hard shut down with the case button. All my other software installs from autodesk were the same way but miraculously, software was installed, but I am not sure if all components were correctly installed. What a pain! I have a 64 bit system. I mean, how hard can an install be? Why do other companies, like Adobe not have problems with installations? I don't get it! Please if anyone out there from Autodesk cares, give the person who wrote this installation set-up a sales job, and please help me install SoftImage, for the love of my sanity and everyone else's!
