Re: cannot give back borrowed licenses

I write this message again, because th first was in the wrong discussion Group

Problem:

We had borrowed licenses for 180 days, we gave them back.

Then we have created a opt file with MAX_BORROW_HOURS 64400AMECH_PP_F 72 and forgot to activate the "Force server shutdown" in the lmtools when we have stopped and started the server.

Now I have again borrowed licenses which are really not borrowed.

We have this problem for 4 Users. See file 03 after restart of server user ligangfr and three other user again here.txt

(ligangfr & sfaspaas & wistauma & wypilsmi)

What can I do?

Welcome to the community.

Since the license server does not think they are borrowed, you have two choices:

1. You can just wait for the client machines to expire

2. You can manually remove the borrowed license from the registry.

To remove it, simply clear the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager\Borrow

It didn' worked.

when I borrow the license my user "wistauma" appears 2 times with different
linger time.

Return the new borrowed license. Stop the server. Remove the options file temporarily. Start the server. Reborrow. Verify, then return. Then put back the options file. See if that works.

Hello!

It didn't worked.

I have tried it with my user wistauma and the license stays,..

And now, after server restart, ALL - the wrong (4) and correct (2) borrowed
licenses start again with today!

That is very bad,...

What can I do now?

There you see, that wen I shutdown the server the borrowed licenses of the wrong users like ligangfr end in 147841 minutes (102,6 days)

Then after restart the user gets and borrows a licence for 179,4 days, but he isn't in acad.

This happens to all 4 users !!!

Travis and Martin,

This EXACT thing happened to me, if I am understanding correctly. Every time I restart my license server, THREE of our users get assigned borrowed licenses lasting about 180 days. This happens regardless of whether these users are even working in AutoCAD at the time of the server restart. It also happens even though my options file limits license borrowing to 16 days. Also, the borrow expiration day then as reported by the server is different than the borrow expiration date as reported by the AutoCAD installation on the individual PC.

I hope the "clever way" you mentioned, Travis, would apply to my case.

Please advise.

If your licenses are being borrowed for longer than your options file allows, then you probably have a typo in your options file.
