an internet connection is required to install a windows component?

I think my installer is broken for softimage... I am trying to run trial but it says an internet connection is required to install a windows component. I have internet on CLEARLY and have disconnected and reconnected etc. but still dosen't work.

This also happens on other installers aswell. Is it .NET mainframe?

Use a Browser Download of the software.  Please review step 1 in this blog post:

If necessary, you can order media as necessary.

Hi,

I'm trying to install 3dsMax 2014 to my win8 pc. However it keeps giving me the folllowing error:

An Internet connection is required to install a Windows component. Please connect and re-launch the installer.

I've read some of the earlier messages however could not find a solution. I disabled my virus protection program, enabled windows update but still no change..

Can someone help please?

Thanks a lot!

make sure you have .net 3.5 enabled.

we have WSUS server and for some reason it doesnt enable when the policy gets applied, so we have to run:

Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:

where source is a network share.

after that, it installed fine.
