ampsa is blank and moldflow exits with security failure

Hello,
I have some trouble getting moldflow 2011 started after it worked fine for a long time.
The license is set up according to the video on youtube (Youtube: Manager Setup and Configuration for Autodesk Moldflow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fWxZBbqTRk)
The server is up (server status in LMTOOLS: Users of 85639MFAM_2011_0F:  (Total of 1 license issued;  Total of 0 licenses in use)) and a service named as the service configured is running. The ports to access the license server are open (browser call http://127.0.0.1:27000 and http://127.0.0.1:2080 gives an encrypted output beginning with Wê-60).
IMHO I have no problems with the licensing itself.

A service named „Autodesk License Manager (Moldflow)“ exists, but is not running.
ampsa is blank (doesn't show any licenses) and moldflow exits with a security failure.
I have no idea, where I can manipulate those two.

Can soneone give me a hint, where I could have a look on?

I already added a license path variable as suggested at the topic of security failure

When you try to start the license server in the Start/Stop/Reread of LMTOOLS what does it say? Can you upload the contents of your debug log file?

I am more intersted in what exactly LMTOOLS is picking up. Is it seeing an IPv4 address or an IPv6 address? Had you made any changes on the system recently prior to the license server connecting anymore?

Jeffry Asbury
Message 7 of 13

It is seeing an IPv4 adress.

I asked my admin and he told me, that we have no IPv6 in use. I'm not at work now, but I never saw an IPv6 adress. I have a look for the exact IP in 10hours.

Message 8 of 13

I double checked: The IP above is the IP of the system settings tab 192.168.1.123 (the HOSTID info is exported with the button "Save HOSTID Info to a File")

What do you have configured in the licpath.lic file of moldflow? Also can you check your services control panel (services.msc) and confirm that the neither the Flexnet Licensing Service and/or the Flexnet Licensing Service 64 are disabled?

In the licpath.lic the host is delp4-5 and the macadress is 000cf17c7e36, I checked that.

The server is up (server status in LMTOOLS: Users of 85639MFAM_2011_0F:  (Total of 1 license issued;  Total of 0 licenses in use)) and a service named as the service configured in LMTOOLS is running.

Would LMTOOLS issue a license, if the lic would be misconfigured?

Message 11 of 13

I think you are confusing 2 things. THe licpath.lic is the file that tells the product where to find the license server. Typicaly that file is found in every autodesk program's root folder (ex. C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Productname 20XX\). Open the Licpath.lic file in notepad and you will see what server the software is trying to pull the license from. The formatting will be something like "Server        Servername        XXXXXXXXXXXX"

Did you check for the services I mentioned in my previous post as well?

I'm using Moldflow 2011. According to this topic on this board the licpath.lic file is used since release of Autodesk Moldflow 2012.

Under Services there are three named with autodesk:

  1. Autodesk License Manager (Moldflow) (not started) [Description: Services product license requests from Moldflow products.]
  2. Autodesk Moldflow Adviser 2011 Job Manager
  3. Autodesk MoldflowLicServer [this is the service I defined in LMTOOLS]

There is no service named Flexnet Licensing Service.

Message 13 of 13

I found a workabout for my problem.

It's called "Autodesk Moldflow Adviser 2015" which runs on my machine now.

Anyway it annoys me not having solved the actual problem. If you like, we could continue to find the error, otherwise I'm fine with closing the case.

Thank you.
