FLEXlm was introduced with AutoCAD 2002. So you have to upgrade the client
to be able to use FLEXlm.

I am running adlm license manager on Windows 2000 professional for ACAD
2000 clients. As the hardware on the license server is aging, we are
planning to upgrade both the hardware and the OS (Windows 2003).
My questions are:
Can we just upgrade the license manager to FlexLM without upgrading the
ACAD client(2000)?
If this is doable, does autodesk just sell their FlexLM product alone
(don't see that on their website)?
