Windows 2003 Server Compatibility

I have 12 network licenses of AutoCAD 2000i that I want to be able to run on Windows 2003 Server,
Will it work? and if it does, What will I need to do?

Thanks in advance

Bruce

Most workstation applications are not certified for, or tested on, server
OS's. Are you talking about running AutoCAD under that OS, or just the
license manager? If the latter, please post in autodesk.autocad.networks.

AutoCAD 2000i is only supported by Autodesk in Windows
98/ME/NT4/2000. What that means is, it should work just fine but
if you find a crippling problem, your on your own for a fix.

Ideally, R2004 after it's been certified for Win2003 Server is
the way to go. But, that's just weird-old-me 😉

If you are asking about the license manager then probably not as 2000i was
the last version to use AdLM. 2002 and newer use FlexLM and it probably
won't take long for them to certify that lic manager for use on Win 2003
Sever. I doubt they'd come back to AdLM and certify that though.

I couldn't even get the license manager to install
on a Win 2003 server machine. So I'm guessing the answer is no.

Sure would be nice if Autodesk could help us out on
this one. We don't have the $60k needed to upgrade to LDT R4.

Sorry but development on the Élan licensing system
used with pre 2002 legacy products has long since stopped.  So I do not
think you will see a Windows 2003 Server solution for Élan based license
servers.  As for newer FLEXlm base products, we have not announced support
for Windows 2003 servers at this time.
