VendorError=-18 [License server system does not support this feature.]

Requested and received IDSU2014 on USB drive to upgrade from 2010 Education Civil and Structural. Got a new license file too, for our single server. Un-Installed 2010 License manager and removed all Autodesk files from server, installed new License manager from IDSU2014 USB drive and new license file from email.

2010 clients continue to work, 2014 error 0.0.0

both can ping server, get response

ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE @ servername enviironment variable was used for 2010, removed it, put it back, no change.

Contacted support, told that only current and last three versions work off of new license file(2014 and  2013-2011 but for me, only 2010 clients work, 2014 error 0.0.0) told to get new license.

Contacted  support for new license file that supports 2010 in addition to 2014-2011.

deleted old"new"license file, installed new on re-read file, check server status all looks good.

2010 clients work 2014 error 0.0.0

Installed fresh win7-64 on pc, install only Autocad 2014(and the support library files using Run as Administrator)

can ping server

error 0.0.0

Set ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE @ servername enviironment variable error 0.0.0

What is my next step?

Welcome to the community!

You probably have to delete the CascadeInfo.cas file.  I had this exact problem with a customer changing suites just last week.  Blowing away the cascade file resolved the issue.

Thank You for the reply, but that is not it.

I have already tried that on a machine that I "upgraded" from 2010.

On the clean pc with a fresh install of only Autocad 2014(not the whole **** IDSU2014) there is no Cascade fie and I get the same VendorError=-18, which from several other posts here say that it is a poorly made license file.

I have contacted support trying to get them to understand that the 2014 products don't work, and that the 2010 products-which should not work with the 2014 license DO.

The support tech responded with this -

"If you need a 2010 license, the Front Desk Team will need generate a special license for you.

When you parse the file after getting the special 2010 license, it will say IDSU 2014-2011 and a IDSU 2010 (only) license. i.e. www.licenseparser.com."

So, i guess that I am supposed to parse the License file for them?

I'm still waiting for a reply from Autodesk Licensing contact who sent me the last file.

If it is happening on a new install, then it is almost certainly a bad license file.  The only other possibility is that you have an older 2nd license manager running on your network somewhere, or you literally are installing a product that you simply do not have licensed.

I'd get a new LIC file generated for you and configured.

Rebooting the server fixed it, must have been a Windows/Flexera thing.

I had re-booted after uninstalling the "old" License Manger, and again after installing the new, but did not after changing license files.

I should have known that with Windows, anytime you make a change, don't Log Off, Re-Start!
