Using 2005, installing 2008 License manager ??

We are currently using AutoCAD2005, and LDDT2005, both networked using a license manager. We are in the process of jumping feet first into AutoCAD2008 and Civil3D2008. We have the AutoCAD2008 installed and deployed to one desktop client. Upon first load, it was REAL slow but finally told me "A valid license could not be found, etc......"

My question is this. Once we configure our license manager to handle the 2008 software, will our 2005 software continue to run??

Hi,

yes they will work. Things to note:

1. You'll have to upgrade the Flex Licensemanager to the one that comes with 2008
2. You'll have to combine the old 2005 licensefile with the new one for the 2008 products. Instructions here:

An alternative to this is obviously to run the licensing system on two
different machines. This might be an idea if you're not experienced or if
you cannot afford any downtime.

Running more than one license server is not recommended unless it is in a redundant or distributive array.

when you combine the licence files
put the 2008 licences before the 2005.

Order of the license file really has nothing to do with anything. Though, I do try to keep the PLIST at the bottom, since you only need one of those.
