Upgrading LDDr2 to LDDr2i

In the coming weeks, I'll be upgrading our LDDr2 installation to LDDr2i.
Until I'm convinced everything works correctly, I plan to leave my current
LDDr2 installation UNTOUCHED but I'd like to test LDDr2i on select
workstations in real world conditions. By real world conditions I mean the
install will be via client deployment, license administered via the ADLM and
the installations will be clean (not upgrades). Can I run LDDr2 AND LDDr2i
from the ADLM? Does the ADLM consider r2 and r2i to be two different
versions? Does it matter? Is there anything else I should consider before
upgrading?

Thanks,
Scott

LDDT2 uses a 152 feature code, LDDT2i uses a 162 feature code so yes they
can be licensed on the same AdLM. It may be worth checking with the LDDT
newsgroup if it is actually possible to install both side by side. With
vanilla AutoCAD 2000i you cannot install alongside 2000. I know this does
not apply to all of the verticals but it is worth checking.

As Simon says (sorry, couldn't resist, too easy,) the feature codes are
different, but much of the core product is the same. You can't run them both
on the same machine with much luck. I've taken to uninstalling all of the
LDD 2 software and removing all traces as best as possible, regclean, the
works, before I install LDD2i and I haven't had any of the problems that are
found in the NG. Best of luck, feel free to contact me if you'd like my
whole checklist for an install.
