Upgrade from standalone to network license

We are looking to start running our AutoCad Mechanical 2012 from a network license server instead of running it as a standalone, because more users need access to AutoCad now than when we originally purchased it.  What are our options?  We recently got a quote from our local reseller for a new copy of AutoCad with a network license and it was quoted as two seperate things:

  1. AutoCAD 2012 (stand-alone version)
  2. AutoCAD Network License Activation Fee

So, can we just pay this Network License Activation Fee and have a network license, or is there more to it than that?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi danpool,

If you just want to convert your existing stand alone licenses into network licenses, all you have to do is pay the network installation fee.

if you already own a copy of mechanical 2012 standalone you just need to pay the fee like stated above

you will have to uninstall your mechanical 2012 installations though

Keep in mind that you will have to reinstall any exising clients as network versions.  Or you can try this registry hack at your own risk:
