I already have a copy of 3Ds Max 2012 on my computer with my student copy I recieved via the Autodesk Education program. I'm still in the same program at my school, just the second level of it, and we recently upgraded to 2013 there. Is it possible to upgrade to that instead of uninstalling 3Ds Max and installing the new copy of it? Or is it simpler to just do that?

it doesn't work like that

most autodesk products are full programs they are not just an update you install over the previous version

you have to uninstall your 2012 and then install your 2013
