possibly that serial number was upgraded if it was the license transfer will not work

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-S...

you need to activate manually

You can use the online method to activate your license here:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/contactus or www.autodesk.com/register
for the contact us page use these steps to fill out a form
1. Activation & Registration

2. Activating a Product

3. Activation Codes & Request Codes

4. I still need help

5. Ask for assistance at the bottom

Or you can can call Autodesk Product Registration and Authorization:

1-800-551-1490 > Option 1 (English) > Option 1 > (Stand-alone)

Asia / Pacific: 65.6735.5688
Europe / Middle East / Asia: 41.32.723.9595

You will need to provide your serial number and the request code.

When I try to use the "Ask for Assistance" the form requires a request code. It suggest to launch the product and the request code will appear at the top of the screen. However when I launch the application it gets stxk on the splash screen with "Checking license..." at the bottom of the screen. Because Request code is a required field I am unable to submit the form.

The other option of calling Autodesk also requires a Request Code that I am unable to get to.
