Unable to Reinstall Civil 3d 2014

Tried to install Civil 3d 2014 and it hung and I had to cancel it as it had not moved in an hour.  Tried to run a reinstall, that failed.  Tried the help document here and am now receiving the attached errors saying autodesk is still installed, but cannot install as autodesk is not installed.

Welcome to the community!

I apologize for your inconvenience.  You installation was probably not hung, it just likely required additional downloading from Autodesk servers.  In some instances, I have seen programs like this and Revit take in upwards of 8 hours to complete.  You simply need to be patient.  I recommend installing overnight in this instance -- especially if you have a slow Internet connection.

Cancelling an install can cause a major headache on subsequent installs or uninstalls.  But they too can be fixed.

To Diagnose and Fix installation problems automatically, please see the new Microsoft tool for this here:

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

For more information on the Autodesk KB Support article concerning the clean uninstall of Autodesk products, see this link:

I hope this helps!

Just wanted to say that downloading the offline Program Install and Uninstall from MS was the key. It was able to remove traces of 2014 and I was able to reinstall everything without issue.

Excellent.  Thanks for the verification.  It will certainly help others who are seeking answers for the same problem.  I am glad you are up and running.
