Trying to register and getting "The serial number you entered is not valid..."

I am trying to register Inventor Publisher 2013 and am getting this error. I tried some of the various fixes I could find but nothing has worked.

I beleive it has been upgraded and the program hasn't been used for some time and it sounds like that is one of the possibilities.

Yes, the reason for this error message could be that your license has been upgraded or crossgraded to a newer or different version, for which there should be a different serial number.
