My understanding is that now that the network license costs more, it is acceptable to use FlexLM over a WAN. Therefore, if I understand this correctly, it is acceptable to set up some at home or on the road staff memebers to connect into the office via vpn, so that they can check out a license and use AutoCAD. However, so far as I am aware, tehre is not currently any other license checkout facility. Is this correct? Also, has anyone done this - I would not want to be working on files across vpn, but if the connection is only serving to maintain a link to the license manager, and autoCAD is running locally, and the user is working off local copies of the files, tehn there should not be any notable performance issues. Has aanyone tried this? Is vpn over a dial-up adequate to maintain a license?
