System Requirements error installing AutoCAD 2014 to Vista

It was recommended that I post this issue after completing a chat session online.

Any assistance you can offer is appreciated.

Paul L. Prairie: I was informed by my Instructor that AutoCAD 2014 was compatible with MS Vista. But, I receive errors indicating system requirements are not met. I need this software for my AutoCAD class. Help!

Ricardo: Hi Paul.

Ricardo: I've received your detailed message.

Ricardo: As you can see in this link from our Autodesk site, the last 2014 version is not compatible with Windows Vista

Paul L. Prairie: So, is there anything you can suggest?

Paul L. Prairie: Other than the obvious (to purchase an OS upgrade)?

Paul L. Prairie: This news is very disappointing to me. You support XP for 2014, but not Vista?

Paul L. Prairie: Very strange.....

Ricardo: Unfortunately we can't do anything.

Ricardo: I don't know why it's XP supported and not Vista.

Paul L. Prairie: Is there someone you can ask to obtain a detailed explanation? I need to follow up with my Instructor on this issue.

Ricardo: You can enter in our forums and post this question in order to know if our technical support team can answer this issue.

you can try this

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/How-to-edit-Inventor-2014-setup-ini-for-Vista-6...

this is for inventor 2014 but it should be the same with autocad 2014

no guarantee this will work

Can someone please assist me further with the issue listed below (please see last reply for current status)?

From what I gather, I may need to install AutoCAD 2012 to Vista, as 2013 and 2014 do not support that OS.

Please advise.

Is this suggested update compatible with Vista 32 bit?

The link indicates 64 bit.

Please advise.
