Standard.ipt file reverting back to old versions

I have an issue where a part (standard.ipt) we use keeps reverting back to a previous version.  The version it keeps reverting back to is over 1 year old.  The file is stored on a local file server.  At first I thought it had something with the backup that runs.  However, I temporarily suspended the backup and the problem still exist.

Ther problem is truly limited to just one file? No other parts files have this problem?

That's the only part that we have noticed to change.  One other thing to add that I noticed this morning.  There are other parts (standard.iam, standard.idw, standard.dwg) in the same directory as standard.ipt.  Those other parts have a modified date of 2/28/2013.  When our standard.ipt part reverts back, it always reverts back to the same date, 2/28/2013.  Not sure what is so special about that date.

I'm not seeing an installation or license issue with this.  Wouldn't this be better addressed in the dedicated Inventor board?

Is the Standard.ipt file a modified version of the one provided by default? To overwrite files in the template directory, the Save As > Save Copy As Template and then overwrite the File in the template directory. It may be a good idea for troubleshooting purposes to see what happens if you save a new file in the template directory.

Thanks,

You are referring to a template file.

What is the path to your templates in your active Project file (*.ipj)?

Are you deleting (or moving) the old 'template' file before trying to replace it? Template files typically cannot be overwriten.

Except in Inventor.
