Standalone Installation of Alias automotive Failed (OS X Mavericks)

Hi

I have recently upgraded to OS X Mavericks and I decided to install Autodesk Alias 2014 and Mudbox 2014 from the student community.

I couldn't see the install and download option so I clicked on the Download now option which was the only one available.

After installation I opened the application to activate them and got the Error 110 message and the application (both of them) quit.

I tried to go onto the autodesk website and manually register and activate but it di not recognise the number !?!

I tried to uninstall both programs but the Alias Uninstaller would not even find the files to uninstall.

So in essence I now have two programs that I cannot start apart from in trial mode, and an uninstaller tool which cannot find the two programs which are on the same machine!

I tried to look to install 2012, as I had done in the past, but again the automatic install option was not present - the last time I installed any software from the student community I downloaded the community installation tool.

I have downloaded the latest updates and in the case of Alias Automotive updated it, but to no effect. The mudbox update requires an uninstall first... but my uninstaller doesn't believe that there is anything on the computer!

All help would be really appreciated.

In most cases, uninstalling and reinstalling the software will solve the issue, although you seem to be having some problems uninstalling the software as well. Not sure if you have tried the steps from here, but could you visit the link below and try the suggestions there? Thanks.

Some of our products have not been updated to support Mavericks yet.  I suspect that you may be getting a Error 110.

Thank you Jeffrey and David, but these solutions in part work on the priniciple that I can uninstall the software.

The uninstaller will not recognise that either Alias or Mudbox are resident on the machine at all, saying that it cannot find any installations of autodesk products on the machine.

Is there a list of what to uninstall when attempting a manual removal of the software components?

I have alerted the Alias QA team and development team.  At this time, Alias doesn't support Mavericks.

Alias 2014 has been updated to resolve the 110 activation issue.  Please check out the Alias 2014 section here:
