Setting the Support Paths in Civil 3D 2011 Deployment

Hi, I'm trying to build a network deployment for Civil 3D 2011. I can't seem to find the page that lets me set the support paths. All the other pages are there pretty much as in 2010 -- features to install, installation paths, etc. But the page where you set the support paths seems to be missing. Am I just blind? Has anyone else had this trouble?

You should be able to find the Cofigurable Folders option in Page 4 of 12 of the Civil 3D Configure section.

Please see image attached.

Thanks for the reply but my problem is with Civil 3D 2011, not 2010. In the 2011 deployment there are only 8 pages in the configuration wizard. Also it's the search paths I need to set, not the configurable folders.

The 8 configuration pages I can see for 2011 are:

1. Select the license type
2. Select the installation type
3. Configure Content Packs
4. Configurable Folders
5. Include Service Pack
6. Configure InfoCenter Communications Center
7. Configure Access to Online Resources
8. Configuration Complete

In 2010 there were four additional configuration pages --

Select Installation Folders for Support Content
Define Search Paths and File Locations
Install Additional Files
Specify User Preferences

I can't find these pages in 2011. Am I the only one who has lost these configuration pages? Edited by: dlowe@bcf-engr.com on May 13, 2010 10:42 PM

Sorry about getting the version wrong.

Indeed in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 there are 8 pages for configuration and the Support File Path configuration is absent.

This I found in the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 Installation guide as well.

Please see attahcment

So how do we set things like paths to our corporate palettes, temp folders, ctb and pc3 locations, etc now?
The "Support Files" page is still in the plain AutoCAD 2011 deployment wizard.

Apparently this is not a critical feature in Autodesk's mind. I beg to differ. Please bring it back!

I was wondering about this too.  I thought I was going crazy or something because I knew I saw it in the 2010 deployment.  What are they thinking removing these settings?

This feature seemed not to have worked in C3D 2010.  We achieved the desired results by creating a shop standard C3D profile (ARG) and then calling it in a shop-specific desktop shortcut.

I have used the custom shortcut pointing to a custom profile for years.  You actually had the ability to create a custom shortcut in 2010 also which was nice.  I believe that option is also gone.
