Serial number is invalid

I have AutoCAD Archecture 2011 that was purchased by an authorized reseller. It was installed and working great on a Windows XP computer.  I recently had to purchase a new computer with Windows 7.  I just installed AutoCAD using the original CD.  I entered the serial number that is listed on the case (same number I used to install it on the XP computer) and it is stating that the Serial number is invalid.  How can this be since it is the original CD in the original case and I even have a copy of the original purchase order.

it could be any 1 of these reasons
