STUDENTS - Serial Number or Product Key Issues

You are having problems with:

 

 

  • Getting a Serial Number or Product Key
  • Your 30 day trial is about to expire
  • Your 30 day trial has expired and you can't get a serial number

Hello Kashif,

 

If eligible, you can obtain a new AutoCAD serial number directly from the Autodesk Education Community.

Hello

 

Having a bit of a problem installing 3DS Max (Student Version). I had downloaded the original 30 Day trial, which has ran out now. My Tutours than told me that I could download a student version of 3DS Max to carry on with my work. I downloaded the student copy, but it doesn't seem to download properly and when I open my original 3DS MAX, it just tells me that my trail has run out. Should I uninstall everything and try again? I just don't want to loose the work that I have created. Or would they stay on my system anyways?

Welcome to the community Jennifer!

 

Are both trial and download versions the same? If so, you can simply activate the trial software with the serial number that you obtained from the Education Community.

I downloaded Autodesk Autocad 2014 a month ago, and it has never shown up under my software, to even try to obtain a serial number?

 

Then I received this message when I had downloaded the software, and have checked back often with no change.

 

"We're sorry we cannot provide you with a serial number at this time.
Please proceed to download and install your software, and use it in "trial mode" for up to 30 days.
Return to this site before then to obtain your serial number from the free software link."

 

PLEASE ADVISE MY TRIAL IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE, AND I STARTED SCHOOL TODAY.

So is signed up as a student an I am having a problem just downloading 3DS Max. Iv'e tried all 3 diferent methods of downloading it but it seems to get to about half way through downloading then it just stops. ive tried using a friends internet but it seems to do the same thing is there a solution?

This an issue that we have and is still currently being worked and looked into.

 

For now, just so you can start using the benefits of the EDU Site, please create and register for a new account using a different email address.

Any particular error message? Do reply back with a screenshot of the error? Also, what browser were you using?

I am using Google Chrome. But when I use the download manager from autodesk it will download for a little bit sometime or maybe not at all the error message that came up was "0x25000001". I will try to  pst a screenshot later if that will help furthur.

Hi mugz20, 

 

Please disable your anti-virus and firewall programs and download the product from Matt, our Virtual Agent, Click here and select the option Downloading and Installation -> Software Download Links -> I Need to Redownload my Product; then simply choose the program and version that you wish to download. You can then use the serial number you obtained from the Education Community to activate the software.

Will someone contact me when the issue is resolved?

 

What am I supposed to do when the trial software expires? Will I have access to the software to use for school still?

 

Should I re-download the software to ensure use for school projects?

 

Please advise. Thank you!

Hi grammy5479,

 

As a student, you can simply register to our Student Community.

 

Once the registration will be complete, you will be able to download Autodesk softwares for free.

 

You will also receive a student serial number to activate the Student license.

I am already registered in the Student Community, and completed this registration when I downloaded the free student software a month ago.


How can I obtain a student serial number?

Hi grammy5479,

 

After login to your account, click the "Free Software" link.

 

To obtain the serial number, you will need to select the product you want (AutoCAD for exemple), the version, the language and the operating system. Then, click on "next".

 

The page will load your student serial number.

 

Let me know if it doesn't work.

I have a serial number and key for the student AutoCAD 2014.  when I put them in on the Product Information page a green check mark appears but I do not get a "Next" button and have no error message.  I have done all the system prep, I think.

Hi Daniel!

 

Can you verify that you're getting a green check mark next to both the serial number and product key? If so, can you please send me a Private Message (click on my philip.s profile name and then "Send this user a private message") with a screen shot of the install screen?

I have also tried this method. the same thing happens, the download automatically stops i disabled the firewall and antivirus.

Hi Mike,

 

To get the best download performance, we recommend following the below steps:

 

  • Use Internet Explorer 8 or 9, Firefox, Chrome or Safari to access the Education Community
  • In the preferences or options area of your preferred browser, remove pop-up blockers and allow access to all *autodesk.com sites.
  • In the preferences or options area of your preferred browser, delete cookies, temporary internet files, and history.
  • Turn off your personal firewall or VPN, if you use one.
  • Close and reopen your preferred browser.

Note: Internet Explorer 10 is not entirely compatible with the Education Community and as a result may not function properly. If you're using Internet Explorer 10, we recommend adding Autodesk.com to your Compatibility View Settings as described below:

 

  • Hold down Alt-T, select Compatibility View Settings
  • Add "autodesk.com".

If you still experience any issues, we recommend using one of the above Internet Browsers.
