Revitt 2012 fails to install

Revitt 2012 fails to install and gives the following error:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled microft visual C++ 2005 and have got the same results

Machine

i7-2600 @ 3.4 ghz

windows seven pro

16 gigs ram

64 bit os

Please advise how we can fix this as this needs to be working this week.

The version you already have installed is probably a newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) than the installer expects.  Use the Control Panel > Programs and Features to remove this version.  Reboot, then reinstall your Autodesk product.  It should install the version supplied and continue the installation.

I uninstalled the visual 2005 (x86) and (x64) rebooted and I still get the same error as noted below.

Please advise.

Try installing the update direct from Microsoft then and see if it will install.  If so, the prerequisite should be skipped on Autodesk install.
